State of Denial-Bush at War Part III

Revolt of the Generals
Revolt of the Generals: "A revolt is brewing among our retired Army and Marine generals. This rebellion--quiet and nonconfrontational, but remarkable nonetheless--comes not because their beloved forces are bearing the brunt of ground combat in Iraq but because the retirees see the US adventure in Mesopotamia as another Vietnam-like, strategically failed war, and they blame the errant, arrogant civilian leadership at the Pentagon. Keith Olbermann slams Bush
If only more commentators had the balls to call bush the pompous, incompetent ass that he is. And to give failing grades to the lackeys in congress who support this criminal administration and give bush a pass on everything from 9-11 to Katrina.
Keith Olbermann on 9-11
Keith Olbermann should make us all feel proud. He is one of the few commentators who has the balls to call this criminal administration what they truly are. And their lackeys in the congress who support them hopefully will go down in flames come November 7th.

Spy Agencies Say Iraq War Hurting U.S. Terror Fight
I wonder how long it will take for bush and this congress to get the message.
Spy Agencies Say Iraq War Hurting U.S. Terror Fight - washingtonpost.com: "But 'a really big hole' in the U.S. strategy, a second counterterrorism official said, 'is that we focus on the terrorists and very little on how they are created. If you looked at all the resources of the U.S. government, we spent 85, 90 percent on current terrorists, not on how people are radicalized.'"

Pentagon sees risk in troops' loan debt
Of course these leeches have flourished for years in poor neighborhoods with their outrageous fees for check cashing and payday loans they now have another lucrative field of victims. With bancruptcy laws enacted in this congress that serve only the rich and with military families separated by bush's endless wars any family financial emergency can be looked upon as a great opportunity for these leeches.
USATODAY.com - Pentagon sees risk in troops' loan debt: "As many as one in five members of the armed services are being preyed on by loan centers set up near military bases that can charge cash-strapped military families interest of 400% or more, a new Pentagon report has found."

The republican Senate voted for taxcuts for the rich but sent our GI's off to war with Vietnam era body armor like this. Of course none of their sons and daughters have to patrol the streets of Baghdad.

Princeton Univ Creates Virus to Steal Elections - Diebold Accuvote-TS
Princeton University's Center for Information Technology Policy has successfully created a virus capable of stealing an election and leaving no trace. They've documented their test and findings on video. This is scary shit! http://itpolicy.princeton.edu/voting/ This is a must-see video. Every single one of these machines should be IMMEDIATELY DE-CERTIFIED for use in the United States of America. Contact your Congressman and Senators Immediately to show them this video and link them to this comprehensive study. Also, make as many members of the press aware of this as possible. |

Ties to GOP Trumped Know-How Among Staff Sent to Rebuild Iraq
And these assholes get freedom medals for their incompetence.
Ties to GOP Trumped Know-How Among Staff Sent to Rebuild Iraq - washingtonpost.com
Many of those chosen by O'Beirne's office to work for the Coalition Provisional Authority, which ran Iraq's government from April 2003 to June 2004, lacked vital skills and experience. A 24-year-old who had never worked in finance -- but had applied for a White House job -- was sent to reopen Baghdad's stock exchange. The daughter of a prominent neoconservative commentator and a recent graduate from an evangelical university for home-schooled children were tapped to manage Iraq's $13 billion budget, even though they didn't have a background in accounting.

Iraq to dig trenches around Baghdad
They're not going to use any razor wire in this moat around Baghdad but maybe if they imported some alligators to breed and propagate it would solve the problem. Unfortunately, all the insurgents are now locked in but they in all probability have plenty of IED's stored up. I wonder if this was bush or cheney's idea.
Iraq to dig trenches around Baghdad - Yahoo! News: "Iraqi security forces will dig trenches around Baghdad and set up checkpoints along all roads leading into the city to try to reduce some of the violence plaguing the capital, the Interior Ministry said Friday. "

Ohio Congressman Is Said to Agree to Plead Guilty - New York Times
One by one the criminals that plague this administration and the cancer they have created in our government will get their just reward. Hopefully in the near future Mr. Ney will join Duke Cunningham in a jail cell and soon to be followed by Tom DeLay. With the Congress expected to turn left in November perhaps these investigations and subsequent convictions will be speeded up.
Ohio Congressman Is Said to Agree to Plead Guilty - New York Times
Mr. Abramoff pleaded guilty in January to conspiring to corrupt members of Congress and other public officials. The scandal was among the factors that led Representative Tom DeLay of Texas, the former House Republican leader, who had been close to Mr. Abramoff, to resign in June, his aides said at the time.

Even Bushes afraid of Katherine Harris
Hopefully she'll drag other repuglicans down with her in the upcoming election as she goes down in flames. What a fitting end for that bitch.
Even Bushes afraid of Katherine Harris: "While Harris was a lifesaver for the Republicans in 2000, she's a lightning rod now, not to mention 'erratic' and 'emotional' -- synonyms for bonkers, which is how her former staff describes her on the record. 'Tantrums. Minor things cause her to blow,' Glenn Hodas said to the Miami Herald after he quit her campaign. 'She doesn't take advice. Micromanaging to the nth degree.'"

NFL tops ABC's edited 9/11 miniseries - Yahoo! News
"The movie was beaten soundly in the ratings by the regular-season debut of NBC's "Sunday Night Football," matching Peyton Manning of the Indianapolis Colts against younger brother Eli of the New York Giants. The National Football League game had an estimated 20.7 million viewers, while "The Path to 9/11" had 13 million, according to Nielsen Media Research. The ABC movie did, however, beat CBS' third airing of a 9/11 documentary, which was seen by an estimated 10.6 million people, Nielsen said."

Rice stands by claims of Al-Qaeda-Saddam links - Yahoo! News
Rice says she hasn'nt seen the Defense Intelligence Agency report and cheney said on Meet the Press that he hasn't read it either. What do these assholes read, the Sunday comics? These are the criminals that are supposedly keeping us safe from another attack.
Rice stands by claims of Al-Qaeda-Saddam links - Yahoo! News: "Rice stood by the claim Sunday despite a February 2002 report from the Defense Department's intelligence arm which was just released by a Senate Committee and stated that Iraq was 'unlikely to have provided Bin Laden any useful (chemical or biological) knowledge or assistance.'
'That particular report I don't remember seeing,' Rice said when asked if she and Bush had not ignored the assessment by the Defense Intelligence Agency.
'There are conflicting intelligence reports all the time,' she said."

Greenwald's `Iraq for Sale' veers off the small-film path | Chicago Tribune
When Greenwald's new film, "Iraq for Sale: The War Profiteers," goes up for sale on DVD at the end of this month, millions of people will already know about it, a lot of them through the network of progressive mailing lists that Greenwald's Brave New Films has been able to tap.
Tens of thousands will already be signed up for a series of independent screenings, most of them in people's homes, the week of Oct. 8. And some smaller number than that will have seen it in a very limited theatrical play, which started this week in New York and Los Angeles.

Iraq's Alleged Al-Qaeda Ties Were Disputed Before War
"The president is still distorting. He's still making statements which are false," said Sen. Carl M. Levin (D-Mich.), an intelligence committee member.
Iraq's Alleged Al-Qaeda Ties Were Disputed Before War: "A declassified report released yesterday by the Senate Select Committee on Intelligence revealed that U.S. intelligence analysts were strongly disputing the alleged links between Saddam Hussein and al-Qaeda while senior Bush administration officials were publicly asserting those links to justify invading Iraq."

Body Count in Baghdad Nearly Triples
Oh no, its not a civil war. Nothing to see here, move along.
"Baghdad's morgue almost tripled its count for violent deaths in Iraq's capital during August from 550 to 1,536, authorities said Thursday, appearing to erase most of what U.S. generals and Iraqi leaders had touted as evidence of progress in a major security operation to restore order in the capital."
Body Count in Baghdad Nearly Triples
"Separately, the Health Ministry confirmed Thursday that it planned to construct two new branch morgues in Baghdad and add doctors and refrigerator units to raise capacity to as many as 250 corpses a day."

“The Path to 9/11″ Reminds Us of Condi’s Lie - Liberal Values - Defending Liberty and Enlightened Thought
Writing in Salon, Joe Conason reports that this is noted but reported inaccurately in “The Path to 9/11.” Conason writes:
"The movie shows a smarmy, condescending Condoleezza Rice demoting Clarke in January 2001 when she takes over as national security advisor. Clarke tries to warn her that “something spectacular” is going to happen on American soil, and she assures him that “we’re on it,” which they assuredly were not".

The Opinionator - Olbermann: Our Chamberlain? It’s Rumsfeld
This has to be one of Keith Olbermann's finest commentaries. It would benefit every American to see this video clip at Crooks and Liars. When the bush administration uses the nazi's in their political propaganda then the anti war people have every right to respond in kind.
