Joshua Micah Marshall gets it right

Big tough talk from bush about North Korea is just that. When it comes to diplomacy he hasn't a clue ("we don't talk to the bad guys") and now he apparently expects China to come to his aid. Instead of pursuing the Clinton plan in place when he assumed office he now apparently just hopes it will go away.
"So the President talked a good game, the North Koreans called his bluff and he folded. And since then, for all intents and purposes, and all the atmospherics to the contrary, he and his administration have done essentially nothing."
